Paracetamol may impair fertility of female offsprings : Copenhagen University

    Generally we consider paracetamol drug safe for pregnant womens ,but according to recent studies scientists says that Paracetamol medication may harmful for her baby's future health; because this drug may impair the fertility of their female offspring. According to research paracetamol may tamper the development reproductive system of female offspring.

                                      

        Pregnant womens mostly prefered Paracetamol/Aceclofenac due to its over-the-counter pain relief property.  


        In Copenhagen University Hospital Dr.David Kristensen and partners performed three individual rat studies to assess the impact of paracetamol that was taken during pregnancy on development of the reproductive system in female offspring. The outcomes showed that the rodents, who were given paracetamol during pregnancy at dosages proportional to those that a pregnant lady may take for relief from discomfort, delivered female posterity with less eggs. 

   That means in adulthood, only fever eggs are accessible for fertilisation, which may decrease the possibility of successful reproduction, mainly as they get older. According to Dr.Kristensen  "Despite the fact that this may not be an extreme hindrance to fertility,  it is still of real concern since results from three individual searched that female reproductive system tampered due to paracetamol use.;which indicates that more investigation is needed to discover how it affects human fertility.


    However, establishing a link between paracetamol taken by mothers during pregnancy and fertility problems much later in the adult life of the child will be difficult.

       Dr. Kristensen said that “As scientists we are not in position to take any decision regarding this, only we would say that  pregnant women  should consult their Gynecologist, Midwife, or Pharmacist for professional advice.”


    The research appears in Endocrine Connections journal.

        Apart from this Paracetamol has so many another disadvantages like Liver damage  and some critical conditions it causes death also.

     Paracetamol overdose or daily consumption is one of the most leading cause of liver failure.adult person can take one or two 0.5g tabs in every 5-6hrs, but should not take more than 4g in (eight 0.5g tabs) in around 24hrs.
